The Audacity of Betrayal

Reverand Wright is wrong. He has shown an ignorant and Narcississtic side to his personality while at the same time trying to ride on Barak's coat tails. This is typical of someone who wants to be in the limelight for his 15 minutes of fame. Despite Wrights education, he is still ignorant of what this time in history actually means to America. Barak represents hope to all of us, regardless of race, ethnicity or religion. We have been living for the last 8 years in the perpetual winter of apathy. It is refreshing to have a candidate who displays dignity, pride, intelligence and vision. Reverand Wright only speaks for a small percentage of African American churches. African Americans are as diverse as a Madras plaid and cannot be marginalized, labeled or even described in the same breath. Our diversity is what makes us unique to America and the future of America lies in diversity. Reverand Wright is from our painful past that should not be forgotten but should also not be used as a platform for the future or an excuse for the present.
